The Snuggie is quite simply a fleece blankets with oversized Sleeves.  Although everyone loves to joke that the Snuggie is just a robe you put on backwards, those comments are usually made by people who do not own a Snuggie, nor have they ever tried one on.

Don’t get us wrong, I use to make fun of the this cultural phenomenon until I received one as a “gag” gift.  At first I wasn’t sure what to make of it, but then I found myself putting it on whenever I watched TV.  My TV room is in the basement of the house and tends to be a few degrees cooler than the rest of the house.

So back to the history of the Snuggie. This item is actually the brain child of Allstar Marketing – which owns many of the products you see on TV.  The Snuggie commercial became an instant YouTube success, with parody videos popping up left and right.  But there was something different about this item – people actually enjoyed the product, recommended to their friends and family and started to buy a second and third Snuggie.
